Okay, assuming you have activated your account by clicking on the link provided in the email that was sent to you upon registering for an account....
First you need to make sure you have installed DC++.
Once installed, you need to make sure you have set your nickname and share folder in the settings (File>Settings)
Your Nick should be the same account you created in the Bootleg Archive website.
Set your Connection to DSL/Cable or better.
If you are behind a firewall, set the Connection Settings to Passive, otherwise leave it at default of Active.
Then click the Downloads Tab.
Select the directory of where you want the files to be downloaded to.
Then click the Sharing Tab
Click the Add Folder button and select the folder that you have your 1 or more Gig of lossless audio in. If you do not have 1 or more Gig of lossless audio then you need to go to TuneTree and download at least 1 Gig of SHN file before you try to enter the hub or you will be kicked by the bots. Also under the Sharing tab, you need to increase the number of Upload Slots to atleast 2 Most people have 3-4 upload slots.
Then click the Advaced tab.
Select the checkbox for "Automatically search for alternative download locations"
Then click the OK button!
Now, go to View>Favorite Hubs
Click the New button
Name = Bootleg Archive
Address = dc.bootlegarchive.com
Description = lossless audio
Nick = your Bootleg Archive username
Password = the password for your Bootleg Archive account
Click the OK button
Check the checkbox beside the newly created item. This will make it so the next time you start DC++ it will automatically log you into the hub.
Now close DC++ and restart the program.
You should automatically enter the Bootleg Archive hub.
Now for downloading....
Once you are in the hub, close the private message from Cheshire.
Under the Bootleg Archive tab you should see a list of users/members on the right side of the window. Double click on a username. If a slot is available it should start downloading the users File List.
Then you can navigate through the users file list and if you see anything you like, simply right click on the file or folder and select Download. It will be placed in the queue and will start to download the file...if a slot is available. Also, if you followed the directions above, you will download from anyone else that has the files you are trying to download from if they match the user's file you are trying to download from.
You will see in the bottom of the window a arrow pointing down with the usersname you are downloading from once a download has been instantiated. Also, you will see a arrow pointing up and the username of someone that is uploading from you.
Thats about it! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of the OPs.
